Dekoh's amputation due to osteosarcoma journey

One Year Thoughts

Dear Dekoh,

One year ago today we started our tripawd journey together. I woke up this morning remembering what was going through my mind concerning the decision to help you feel better and hoping you would still be with this time this year. I have cried tears of sadness and joy for you over this past year. I miss you each and every day no matter what is happening and only wish you were still here with, although I know you are here in my heart.

I miss and love you everyday. I know we will be together again one day as you wait for me up there.

Love Dad

We send all our love and heartfelt thoughts to you today. These milestones, the “firsts” are difficult to wrap our heads around. Time goes by so fast and yet it doesn’t when we are missing our loved ones.

Dekoh is absolutely there with you in spirit, and here in the Tripawds community too, for all time. Your journey together in this blog is one that will always bring comfort to others as they start their own. It was so beautiful to see the great life Dekoh had with you!

Many hugs coming to you today and always.

    Dekoh’s Dad,
Rusty and I joined Tripawds in May so this blog post was the first time we learned about you and Dekoh. I thought that you might like to know that your beautiful boy is still making an impact and definitely inspiring others like me on their journey. I have started reading your posts and it didn’t take long for me to see what a special boy Dekoh was and what a special bond you share. What an amazing love story. I was so touched by your birthday tribute. I read the captions aloud and showed Rusty and my Mom each picture and could not stop crying. I loved the pictures of you two in the snow (we are in MN so we totally get the joy of a new snow) and the pics of his wheel tracks. I loved getting to see him playing in the water. I’m just so happy he got to share his life with someone who loved him so very much – what a gift. I am going to keep reading but I thought my heart might just explode.
    Love, Amy & Rusty
